- Matthew Good - Hospital Music (political, alluring, canadian and rockin')
- The Autumns - FNFABOT (need I say more)
- Band of Horses - Cease to Begin (another solid outing a year after the debut)
- Sigur Ros - Hvarf/Heim (beautiful)
- Eluvium - Copia (life changing)
- This Will Destroy You - Young Mountain (awesomness)
- Promise & The Monster - Knives Transparent (Swedish Sundays stylings)
- Jose Gonzalez - In Our Nature (i always smile when i hear this)
Edge, you've peaked my interest with this Kent band. Will have to seek them out soon.

I did forget to mention one female act who has been in heavily rotation for me. Albeit only a 3 song demo...
Sara Lov - 3 Songs
For any Bella Union aficionados she is 1/2 of the Los Angeles duo Devics. Lovely, lovely lady with beautiful vocals.

Smiths - Hatful of Hollow aaahhh, it's warming up which means it's time for my annual smiths listening. I don't know what it is about the warm spring / early summer months that makes me long for the smiths... must be some sort of nostalgic significance or something. (welcome to the boards pixie!) xx mims

I'm the same way with the Smiths... always listen to them in the spring/summer... live in Rhode Island, so its just getting warm (75 today!)... thanks.. i was a member before, but i think when the board updated at some point, i didn't carry over... anyways, glad to be back... just hoping they'll make it out this way sometime soon... haven't seen them in about 5 years as I'm not in Cali anymore... Lately it's been a mix of the following for me:
Midsummer - Inside the Trees (and the Driftwood soundtrack for relaxation)
Nine Inch Nails - Ghosts I-IV (I'm not sold on all of it - probably needs some editing - but it's a rather intriguing left turn from Trent's usual fare)
Left of the Dial: Dispatches from the '80's Underground (box set from Rhino Records) - phenomenal collection from an underrated period in musical history
The Chameleons - Script of the Bridge (only found out about these guys from the box set above - how I managed to miss them for so long is beyond me. Excellent stuff!)
R.E.M. - Accelerate ("Document" for the 21st century)
Cheers,
edge
