Maybe matthew hit some frequencies that sounded similar to a she-cat mewing nasty comments? Or maybe you had the volume up too loud... you said you haven't cared for your hearing in years... perhaps it's already lost.

It is a mystery...perhaps matthew has a hidden talent that he can speak to cats...or rather, as you suggest mimsy, he can deeply insult cats (!)... ...although, yes, it is most likely that the volume was a tad bit too loud ...it doesn't sound good if it's not loud though...however....the cat was asleep...so he probably didn't appreciate it...ahwell, what can you do???

I think your cat was scared because he knew that after Matthew was finished singing there would be a lot of screaming by the next couple of singers...something this listener didn't dig on too much. Besides that, I thought the DVD was pretty good. The photographs, for me, were the best part. They are a very good band - great musicians. The fact they can pull off all the weird stuff going on is quite an accomplishment.
I wish they had done "The Herectic" as a full band, but Matthew's acappella performance was enjoyable. I thought he sang in a lower range than the studio version (possibly on purpose) on "My Horse Must Lose." It was OK. And doesn't Matthew help sing the back-up harmonies on "This Heat"? If so, wished he had joined in for that. But like I said before, it was a fairly enjoyable viewing/listening experience.

I actually caught the Hollywood show live. The energy of that gig was fantastic. Eventhough screaming isn't usually my cup of tea I found myself jumping around and swaying with the tides of flailing kids in tight pants. It was pretty awesome. Personally, I thought Matthews singing on 'My Horse Must Lose' was better in the show I saw than the DVD cut. (I saw the clip on youtube) But whattaya gonna do? ... Still, I think I'd like to get my hands on the DVD for a viewing. Sounds pretty cool.

You'll dig it, and it will be nice to add to your collection.

yeah...i must say im glad i got the dvd...and i would recommend it...although it does seem apparant that i am more keen on the other vocals than others!!! I was disappointed that they didnt do a full band version of 'the heretic' aswell - cos its just such a good song...i thought they might do it right at the end...but never mind... ...as for matthew's vocals on 'my horse must lose' - it isnt perhaps his strongest vocal performance - but when you compare it with 'the heretic', you do realise that most other songs can not match it...however...i do love, how after all the technical majesty of the other songs, you see matthew just playing his guitar with one hand during that song - it's such a difference...and makes me smile...

So, The Sound of Animals Fighting are recording their third album...but my question is...
...is Matthew going to be on it???
Any ideas or answers would be much appreciated!!! I hope so - 'The Heretic Mark 2'... *drifts off in wonderment at the thought*

Does anyone know if Matthew will be appearing on the new Sound of Animals Fighting album "The Ocean and the Sun"? TSOAF is actually how I discovered the Autumns. I was immediately taken by Matthews voice I think it would be nice if he made the hat-trick!

Current information would suggest that he won't be...as it is supposedly just the 4 core band members who will be on 'The Ocean and the Sun'... ...but, there has been no 'official' confirmation either way...but im not hopeful... ...a shame, as The Heretic was easily the best song on the last album...

That would be a shame. He added something very special. I don't want to give on hope just yet, however. Oh well, as long as Anthony Green is still involved. He is also one of my first loves!

Anthony and Matthew have really different vocal styles, but I agree that both of them are just oozing with talent. I caught TSOAF at the HoB in Hollywood when they came through. I gotta say, Anthony is an impressive performer.

You are a lucky lady. You may be interested, if you do not already know, that Anthony is bringing out a solo album. Should be out around August.
