Interesting sonic material on that page... I wonder why Mr. Kelly isn't referenced as a band member though. Is he more of a contributor on this project as well a la TSOAF? I got a different impression when this project was initially announced.

I'm under the impression that the band have used 'false' names on the myspace - hence why there has been no official announcement about the myspace page...
...i could be wrong - but i'm pretty sure that the tracks only have matthew's vocals on them...the band info page on theautumns.com has been updated, and says that matthew 'joined' Pyramids - and so i assume that he is a full member!!!

I'm only my first track, "Sleds," but I can say so far it is very good. Can't wait to hear more...
Edge, I'm curious of the anonymity as well. Weird to see a band that Matthew contributes to being from Dallas.

noc, you can quit this charade right now... we all know that you're actually the mastermind behind Pyramids, and have incorported Matthew's contributions by sending demos back and forth in the mail a la The Postal Service. Sadly, your ego was your downfall when you had the audacity to place the band in your home state - what were you thinking?

You got me like an arrow in the heart...i'm down for the count now. (did that just sound like really bad bon jovi lyrics?!) Guess I couldn't keep the lie going forever.
Seriously, I wish I was that talented to do such things. Maybe as i get older my old-age will prove fruitful.

We have a release date (just go to the Pyramids myspace as linked in my first post)!!!
April is certainly a busy month for Matthew...at least in terms of record releases!!!

I was noticing the new default photo on the Pyramids myspace page... who is that hooded man? He seems so familiar...

Just heard the whole thing (go here: www.hydrahead.org/hh/pyramids_site/)...very interesting. "sleds" is still my favorite. the rest is pretty noise with a good bit of frantic drumming. I can't definitely see why hydra head picked this up. I'll pick it up soon but not sure how much i'll listen to it besides "sleds." anyone else heard it and want to share thoughts?

I listened to it last night, but wasn't really taking it in...i still quite enjoyed it though...which is why i went and pre-ordered it...
...although i've read some shocking reviews of it...seems like Pyramids is a bit 'love it or hate it' - i think i'm a in the middle of the two at the moment!

Pre-ordered my copy yesterday primarily to support all of the Autumns' members' side projects. I'm of noc's opinion that Sleds is the current fave, though I figure the real test will be to hear it in a proper stereo setting at home or on the road, rather than through crummy computer speakers...

May 9 update: Got my pre-ordered copy of the CD in the mail today. I haven't even listened to it yet, but I must say that the packaging is so lovely, I don't know how they could afford it! Hopefully the band won't end up in a bind similar to New Order's "Blue Monday" release, where they actually lost money on every copy sold (and it went on to be the best-selling 12" in the UK ever!).
Also, though I passed on the limited edition t-shirt, it was cool to see a free mini-poster inside the package. I'm really digging the "concept" of Pyramids (art, musical direction, packaging, etc.) - I'm just not sure at this point if the music will be something that I'll keep in regular rotation... more to come as I make my way through the record a few times.
Finally, can anyone explain why Matthew isn't listed by name as being a band member on the package? Does he have a pseudonym for Pyramids, and if so, why? I saw that Steve is listed in the thank you's (under his real name)...
Cheers,
edge

I'm still waiting for mine to arrive...i decided to order the whole package - i am very weak when it comes to special offers...i just get sucked in before i realize what i'm doing... ...anyway, i'm sure the t-shirt and the hoodie will be nice items to have... ...and i've decided to reserve my judgment on the music until the cd is sitting in my cd player! I was under the impression that they are using fake names - i think one of them was called 'M.Kraig' or something like that...notice any similarity??? Probably just something they decided to do - keep it independent from other projects/bands...
