Not sure how many of you out there are M83 fans, but Anthony Gonzalez (main songwriter/performer) has put out another album under the M83 moniker entitled "Digital Shades vol 1." More of an ambient piece of work than the previous albums.
Its available in the US on iTunes only...bonus track included. The UK and France, beyond getting an iTunes release (or whatever the corresponding digital download service is), will get a CD and LP version.
Anyway, thought I would spread the word...

wish, i would start with an older album. try either "before the dawn heal us" or "dead cities, red seas & lost ghosts." they are both very, very good.

for a long time i thought the cover of dead cities was a painting. anyway as a whole, i think before the dawn heals us is better. although the aforementioned certainly has its moments (like the 18 minute title track). haven't heard the new one yet, but i noticed the songs are much shorter. is that good?

it is more ambient than any album they've done. there are always soundscapes they explore from album to album, but never a full album of such tracks. its good. not mindblowingly good, but decent nontheless.
