So, I listened to Angel Pool for the first time in (I'll be honest) a few years. I cannot even describe how many memories it brought back. Too many. I just turned up the volume on my car radio and sang along, sometimes in gibberish because I don't KNOW know ALL the lyrics.

... nice one! While the Autumns are definitely not at the Cocteaus level of un-decipherable lyrics ;D... there are still some tracks where you're not quite sure what Mathew is singing. ...... But it's the cool melodies that really matter anyways.

I also think that the music is emotive so even if you cannot fully understand what he sings, you can get some sort of general feeling from the music itself.
It's important to realize that when one is listening to music (or viewing art) that there is this really magical thing that lingers between the music and the audience. All the experiences of both entities intermingle and the experience is completely unique and special. So when I listen to music I bring all of my life experiences with me and can interpret someone else's (The Autumns, in this case) experiences to mirror my own. It's like an intimate conversation between us... sometimes I think that we become so inundated with visuals and sounds in our day to day lives that we can easily overlook this experience.
Why on earth did I even start this long-winded tirade? Oh right, not understanding lyrics, but still "feeling" the music. ... so... I guess that's all I have to say on THAT subject. (<.<) (>.>) (>.<)

... I follow you.. ... it's the emotional impact of music and art that really matters most.

Shit, I'd be lying if I said I knew the lyrics. I have the lyrics stashed somewhere but I never bothered to learn them. I just murmur them when I sing along.

www.geocities.com/drummunky/One of the users on the old incarnation of this board posted that (his) site with the lyrics and he just gave me permission to link it. All the songs are official and were sent by Mr. Frankie himself. I hope I'm not ruining things by posting the lyrics, but I thought it would help the out the curious. Knowing the lyrics to "The Angel Pool" track really helped me appreciate the song even more.
