Which Autumns record (or song) holds that special place in your heart?
What makes it so special?

... favorite still has to be Glass In Lullabies. I just love how it starts kinda quietly and gradually builds up towards the end. Beautifull tune, though, all the Autumns stuff is.

That's definitely a classic. It's so hard for me to choose a favorite. There's one that they used to play live but was never released that I always liked called "Belle of the Ball in the Gallery of the Grotesque" (I hope I got that right)

... I'm so jealous of all you that live in the L.A. area. You get to see/hear the guys play live ( on a semi-regular basis, even!!) ...... my all-time favorite band, and I've never got see them live............ (sigh)

That's so sad. Hopefully a U.S. tour will happen for their next album. I know that there are fans peppered accross the country who would love to see it. As far as released music... I really like 'deathly little dreams' ... it's pretty rockin'

The latest record was worth the wait, just hope the new one does see the light of day in early '06, as mentioned by the band. I go back to The Angel Pool (in its entirety) each and everytime. It got me into the band, and did a lot for me when hearing other bands. The cover of "Time of No Reply" is breathtaking.

Keep it up and it could become like the annual Thanksgiving Day "Twilight Zone" marathon only... not. ;D (I'm so lame) haha!

autumnsfest?! haha! that could be fun. I was looking at my CD collection and boy oh boy do I have a lot of Autumns stuff. I probably could have some ridiculously long Autumns listening marathon if I wanted to.
Wait... do compilations count, eventhough they have only one Autumns song?

This band is just brilliant...
Most dear tracks for me are: Glass in Lullabies Sunblush The Garden Ends The Wreathe and the Chain Witch Hazel The End Deathly Little Dreams Desole Edmond & Edward The Moon Softly Weeps a Lullaby Cattleya
each and every song by this band is a work of art.

In The Russett Gold of This Vain Hour is my favorite album with Le Carrillon coming in a close second. Boy with the Aluminum Stilts is my favorite song. I can listen to that on repeat for hours.

How very different favorites. There are many beautiful tunes on both recordings. The covers 3" was very nice as well. The cover of Lift to Experience's 'With the World Behind' is so simple, and beautiful. That song can also be found on the Cafe Bleu compilation, but I'd recommend waiting for the covers 3" to be released on iTunes. (if it hasn't been already)

The Covers 3" is fantastic. With "Please, Please, Please" it's probably one of those rare instances where the cover sounds better than the original. Uh...not to imply that covers are always bad. And not to say that the original version is bad either. I fail at word-speaking.There's just this deceptive simplicity to the covers - like compact lullabies for adults. But I digress.
In terms of favorites, there'd have to be a tie between In The Russet Gold of This Vain Hour and The Angel Pool. My friend introduced me to The Autumns through ITRGoTVH, so it's always gonna be special. I can never get enough of the last three tracks. And I'm always in the mood for The Angel Pool, especially the last three tracks. I guess I have a thing for The Autumns and the last three tracks of their albums?
